Title Joint Conference of Korean National Diplomatic Academy-Institute for National Security Strategy-KINU-Jeju Peace Institute (First session)

On Thursday, March 25, 2021(8:30~10:00), KINU held a joint academic conference in cooperation with Korean National Diplomatic Academy, Institute for National Security Strategy, and Jeju Peace Institute under the topic of “Prospects for Biden Administrations’ Policy on the Korean Peninsula.’ This conference consists of three sessions and aims to make a projection on new U.S.-North Korea relations and inter-Korean relations based on expert discussions on Biden administration’s policy on the Korean Peninsula and to seek ROK government’s diplomatic measures. 

The first session(3/25) was held in the form of webinar under the theme of 'How to Reactive the Peace Process on the Peninsula: Joint Action and/or Strategic Division of Role between the ROK and the US' with the presence of diplomatic and security experts in Washington. The session contributed to improving the understanding of U.S.’s security policy and expanding expert networks of relevant institutes in the U.S. and Korea.  

- The session began with a congratulatory speech of the President of International Peace Foundation Kim Sungwhan. Kim Joon-hyung(KNDA Chancellor) presided over the session involving discussions, such as Kim Ki-jung(INSS President), Koh Yu-hwan(KINU President), Han In-taek(President, Jeju Peace Institute) on the Korean side and Kathleen Stephens, KEI President(Korea Economic Institute of America), Robert Einhorn, a senior fellow, Brookings Institution, Ambassador Joseph Yun, a senior advisor to the Asia program at the U.S. Institute of Peace on the American side.
