Title 「Jeju Forum – For Peace & Prosperity 2021」 KINU Session

KINU (Korea Institute for National Unification) commenced four sessions at the <Jeju Forum – For Peace & Prosperity 2021> held from June 24th and 25th.
This year’s theme was “Sustainable Peace and Inclusive Prosperity” and the session theme of KINU was “Assessment on Pyongyang Joint Declaration and Plans to Improve Peace on the Korean Peninsula”, “North Korean Development Model for the Peace and Prosperity of the Korean Peninsula,” “The Decision of the Korean Peninsula Amid the Changing World Order,” “KINU Unification Survey 2021: How do South Koreans Think about Unification and North Korea?”
Due to COVID-19, the conference was held live via Jeju Forum’s YouTube channel, complying with the level 2 social distancing measure and will be uploaded on the YouTube channel of KINU as well.

O Summary
- At the session “Assessment on Pyongyang Joint Declaration and Plans to Improve Peace on the Korean Peninsula”, assessment on the condition of Pyongyang Joint Declaration in 2018 and plans to improve the peace on Korean Peninsula were discussed.
- At the session “North Korean Development Model for the Peace and Prosperity of the Korean Peninsula”, analysis on the internal conditions of North Korean development and external changes were made to display early-stage preconditions for North Korean development, and discussed the sustainable development model that goes in line with these preconditions.
- In the session “The Decision of the Korean Peninsula amid the Changing World Order”, discussions on new systemic goals for Korean Peninsula in the midst of tumultuous global transformations were made.  
- In the session “KINU Unification Survey 2021: How do South Koreans Think about Unification and North Korea?”, the result of annually-held ‘KINU Unification Survey 2021’ was presented and in-depth discussions on unification and perceptions on North Korea were made through time series and regression analysis.
