Introduction To achieve unification on the Korean Peninsula, while working to resolve concerns such as the nuclear issue, at the same time we must prepare favorable internal and external conditions and a strong foundation for unification. For this purpose, we need research which objectively, systematically, and comprehensively reflects the circumstances in North and South Korea, the state of inter-Korean relations, and changes in the regional situation surrounding the peninsula. This research looks at reunification as a practical possibility, and its goal is to enable an easier understanding of when we are in consideration of the various factors that influence unification. Further, on this foundation it aims to predict a future time for unification.
