책 소개
The reunification of North and South Korea will require the integration of political and economic systems as well as efforts to repatriate and assimilate people and cultures. It is this latter issue of assimilation that provides the focus for this book by Fuqua (Auburn U.), who assumes for the purposes of the discussion that the task will consist primarily of assimilating North Koreans into a society based on a South Korean model of governance. After exploring the historical background of divisions in Korean culture and society, he addresses key issues associated with repatriating North Koreans under the South Korean system, focusing particularly on assimilation, employability, and education. He draws lessons from the experience of the approximately 20,000 North Koreans who have fled into South Korea and settled there. Distributed in the US by Books International.
